Alec Gill
Alec's work is primarily influenced by his continuous exposure as a Walcha farmer to the landscape, trees and vegetation. People, animals, environmental issues and occasional humour appear in his work.
Alec says, "My work is very much about the materials. I start with a found piece of timber, usually from fallen trees in the paddock, recognising a form or subject then cutting and shaping using a chainsaw and other power tools. I then add reused steel from old farm plant and machinery, wire from an old fence and galvanised sheet from a redundant farm shed to complete the work."
